Instructor Gina Torello has designed this Urban Sketching Class in the heart of our iconic downtown. Detailed perspective lessons will take place out on the streets of our local quaint towns. Instruction will be given on how to sketch using various drawing materials. The key to success is learning linear perspective, using a visual grid to aid in proportion skills and understanding how to properly shade to create depth. The first 12 Artists will be supplied with a New Wave Pochade Easel to use during your exclusive lessons down in these quaint seashore towns and a comfortable pleinair chair to use as we draw with various materials, supply list below. Each week we will meet in different location with new and exciting lessons and exciting subject matter to enjoy. Great way to welcome spring enjoy the fresh air and take your own work of art home with you. All levels always welcome. We will meet at the Jersey Shore Arts Center the first class.

Explore the forgiving and simple media of soft pastels. References will be provided varying in subject matter and style. Working together as a class in a step-by-step manner you discover how a professional artist begins, creates, and finishes a work of art. This method of teaching gives you confidence and allows you freedom to develop your own style. Color theory, application methods, and diverse techniques are used to teach you use of texture and dimension in your paintings. All levels are always welcome.
